On August 21, 2026, a review meeting for the revised edition of the group standard "Technical Specifications for Zinc-Aluminum Coatings"—organized by the Zinc-Aluminum Coatings Branch of the China Surface Engineering Association—was held in Shanghai. Leaders from the Association’s Standardization Technical Committee, industry experts, and representatives from the organizations involved in drafting the standard gathered to deliberate on and discuss the revised draft. Shisheng Holding Group Co., Ltd. participated in this revision process, drawing upon nearly three decades of practical industry experience to provide technical insights and constructive recommendations from the front lines, thereby contributing to the refinement of the standard.
Seven Years of Industry Practice: The "Shisheng Experience" Informs Standard Revisions
In 2018, the Zinc-Aluminum Coatings Branch of the China Surface Engineering Association organized the development and implementation of the group standard "Technical Specifications for Zinc-Aluminum Coatings," which established a vital benchmark for technical requirements and product quality specifications within the industry. Over the past seven years, as sectors such as automotive manufacturing, fasteners, wind power, and rail transit have continued to evolve, the demand for zinc-aluminum coatings has expanded. Concurrently, process technologies, production equipment, quality control protocols, and industrial practices have undergone continuous iteration. Given the years of application, it became necessary to further revise and improve the existing standard to better align with the current state of industry development.

As a surface treatment engineering system integrator with nearly three decades of deep expertise in the field of zinc-aluminum coatings, Shisheng Group played a pivotal role in this round of standard revisions. Drawing on extensive experience serving clients across more than 70 countries and regions, the Shisheng technical team leveraged data and application feedback accumulated from real-world projects to provide targeted recommendations on key technical provisions—including coating thickness requirements, salt spray test standards, and environmental compliance metrics.
From "Practical Experience" to "Standardized Language": How Shisheng Contributes Back to the Industry
The vitality of any standard lies in its ability to genuinely address the practical needs of industrial development. Shisheng Group’s contributions to this revision are rooted firmly in solid, hands-on industrial practice.
Prioritizing Environmental Compliance: Shisheng Group has successfully overcome technical barriers to develop eco-friendly, chromium-free formulations. Its chromium-free coating solutions have fully replaced traditional chromium-containing products, delivering salt spray resistance of over 1,000 hours. Data derived from the front lines of product R&D provided a robust foundation for enhancing the environmental technical specifications in the revised standard.
Empowering Through Intelligent Equipment: Shisheng’s proprietary MS800 fully automated coating production line features an AI-driven intelligent control system. This enables precise, closed-loop control over critical parameters—such as coating thickness and curing temperature—ensuring consistent quality across batches. The equipment is compatible with various coating solutions, including water-based, chromium-free, and oil-based types, meeting the diverse performance requirements of different clients.
Validated in Real-World Applications: Shisheng’s products are widely used for the anti-corrosion treatment of fasteners and components for major domestic and international enterprises, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Tesla, BYD, and CRRC. The data gathered from end-use sectors—such as automotive, wind power, and high-speed rail—served as a vital reference for establishing the performance benchmarks defined in the standard.
Committed to the Ongoing Development of Industry Standards
In fact, participating in the revision of the "Technical Specifications for Zinc-Aluminum Coatings" is just one more example of Shisheng Group’s long-standing commitment to the development of industry standards. In 2025, Shisheng Group was appointed as a member organization of the Automotive Anti-Corrosion and Aging Branch of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (CSAE). In this capacity, the company is deeply involved in drafting CSAE group standards for automotive fasteners and reviewing the development and design manual for such components.
Looking ahead: Aligning standards more closely with industry needs, and ensuring that practical experience continuously informs and refines these standards.
"The formulation and revision of standards are, in essence, a process of distilling industry technical practices into a shared consensus," says Zhang Fangjian, Executive Director of Shisheng Group. "Shisheng will continue to leverage its practical expertise—spanning zinc-aluminum coating materials, processes, equipment, and production line applications—to actively participate in industry technical exchanges and the development of standards. By feeding industrial experience back into technical advancement, we aim to support the standardization and professional upgrading of the entire industry."

Standards serve as the "foundation" for industry development, while the practical experience of leading enterprises provides the most robust substantiation for that foundation. From its initial participation in drafting the first edition in 2018 to its involvement in the revised edition for 2026, Shisheng Group has remained deeply rooted in the field of zinc-aluminum coatings, contributing its own strength to the industry’s advancement through continuous technological innovation and solid industrial practice.
