There are many kinds of metal surface treatment, such as our common electroplating, blackening, phosphating and so on, there is a surface treatment called Dacro, I believe that many people are relatively unfamiliar, may have seen this kind of surface treatment products, but do not know that it is the use of Dacro treatment process.

So what is the Dacromet surface treatment process in the end, what is the difference between this surface treatment process and other metal surface treatment process, what is the special role?

What is Dacros.

The name DACROMET is a transliteration of English Dacromet, also known as Dacromet rust or Dacrodragon, it is a new type of metal surface anti-corrosion coating with aluminum, zinc and chromic acid as the main coating raw materials.

The matrix materials using Dacrosol are mainly steel and non-ferrous metals. After the coating liquid reacts with the metal matrix, a layer of silver-gray anti-corrosion film will be formed on the surface, which can isolate the matrix from the air and play a role in protecting the workpiece.

Dacro is widely used in various industries, such as construction, hardware, fasteners, road engineering and petrochemical, etc.

Dacrol has very strong anti-corrosion performance, which makes up for the defect of short time of traditional anti-corrosion, and pushes the anti-corrosion technology to a new level.

The character of Ducro

Compared with some traditional electroplating processes, Dacro has more advantages.

Compared with some traditional electroplating processes, Dacro has more advantages. For example, the anti-corrosion performance of products using dacrol process is dozens of times that of traditional galvanized steel. After salt spray test, it is found that ordinary dacrol can reach 20 times that of galvanized steel. However, the test time of those long-acting Dacrol will be longer.

Colo has good stability in high temperature environment, which is much higher than the traditional galvanized high temperature resistance.

The Dacro process is very good at impact resistance, so the Dacro process is very suitable for those stressed parts, because the Dacro permeability, the surface coating can be well combined with the product.

Unlike some traditional electroplating processes, Dacrol is less polluting in the production process, so some highly polluting surface treatment processes are gradually being replaced by Dacrol.

Although Ducro has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages.

Some dacrosol contains hexavalent chromium ions, which are harmful to health. Long-term exposure will cause harm to human body, and there is a risk of cancer. According to relevant product standards, this harmful substance is not allowed to be contained.

The surface color of Dacrodello process is only silver and white, which is relatively simple, so if other colors are needed, they must be processed again to obtain different colors.

The relatively poor electrical conductivity, long production time and high energy consumption of Dacrosol coating also limit its range of use.

Dacros development history

In the 1950s, in some areas of the United States, the ground froze because of cold weather, so salt was used on the road to reduce the melting point, so as to achieve the purpose of ice removal.

However, after the sodium chloride in salt melts, the sodium ion will splash onto the passing car, and over a long period of time it will corrode the parts on the car, causing serious harm to the car, and in the long run it will endanger the safety of driving.悔的。

When scientists discovered this problem, they developed a new solvent that they applied to a metal surface and baked it at a high temperature to create a thin coating, called Dacrol.

Due to its excellent anti-corrosion performance, Dacrol was first used in various military equipment with very high anti-corrosion requirements. Later, through continuous improvement, it began to be widely used in various other industries.

Ducro's process flow

Degreasing and oil removal

Degreasing and oil removal must be carried out on the surface of the workpiece with grease. The effect of degreasing and oil removal will directly affect the adhesion and anti-corrosion quality of the entire coating.

Usually using trichloroethylene and industrial alkali mixed organic solvent degreasing oil removal, the workpiece into the solution soaking for half an hour can be completed oil removal, oil removal after the completion of the workpiece, to use water to wash the solution on the surface of the workpiece.

Polishing

There will be a burr or rust on the surface of the workpiece, the surface needs to be cleaned up, the workpiece into the shot blasting machine or mechanical polishing directly clean, which can improve the corrosion resistance of the workpiece.

coatings

Dacrol's coating is made up of aluminum, zinc, ethylene glycol and chromic acid, which is mixed and used.

Some smaller or standard parts usually use immersion, the workpiece into the coating liquid for about ten seconds, so that the surface of the workpiece is fully coated liquid after taking out the workpiece, in order to avoid the phenomenon of liquid accumulation and flow hanging, with centrifugal force to remove the excess coating liquid on the workpiece.

There are some larger workpiece, and can not be used in the way of immersion to complete, which requires the use of machinery and equipment to spray the coating liquid on the surface of the workpiece, the workpiece surface adhesion is poor by spraying method, corrosion resistance will also be reduced.

Curing by baking

After the surface is coated with liquid, first of all, the temperature of 120℃ bake for about 10 minutes, which is to slowly evaporate the water in the coated liquid, but also let the coated liquid fully contact with the workpiece together.

Then bake at 300℃ for about 30 minutes, so that the coating liquid on the surface of the workpiece is fully cured, and finally form a thin film.

post-processing

High temperature curing workpiece temperature will be very high, to let the workpiece through the cooling system quickly cooling, finally after the inspection of the workpiece is finished the whole dacrol process.

The birth of Dacros is to provide better corrosion resistance for cars. It can be said that through cars to the world, improve the shortcomings of galvanized process, so it has been widely used. But with the development of technology, people are always looking for better and more perfect surface treatment process.
